Desk Pencil Holder

So when I emptied the last of the salt out of the box I didn't want to throw it away because I knew I could come up with an idea of how I could use it. After a couple of days I cut the top off and realized that it was really sturdy. I covered it in paper and it just went from there. I sent the first one I made with my husband to his work to give to the secretary. She sent me a nice message and wanted to know if I could make her three for Christmas gifts. So, off to the dollar store to buy more salt. Now if I could figure out what to do with all the salt I had to put into a ziploc bag. Check out how they turned out...

Easy peasy !! and I have recycled ... Love it...
These would look really cute on a desk.
Thanks for stopping by......

Perfect Sentiments Challenge

Perfect Sentiments is at it again.... Here is the recipe for the new Challenge...

Make an aniversary card............... Now for the catch.....

USE THE FOLLOWING PICTURE TO HELP YOU ON YOUR DESIGN !!
Now for my card I looked at this picture and of course the first thing I see is the Chandalier and the curtain. But then I took another look and saw the shutters in the background. So off to the craft room where I found some strips of cardboard that was in a package I got at work. I spray painted it black and cut strips to look like the shutter. Then I printed a Chandalier from the Home Decor cartridge and spray painted them silver sparkles. I finished the card off with a cute ribbon, a few white flowers and and aniversary sentiment... And here it is....
Now this challenge is sponsored by

Shelly's Images
Shelly's has some great images so check her website out sometimes.
She is giving away a great gift to the winner this week.
$9 Gift Voucher equivalent to 3 digital images

Now, pay a visit to the Design Team and check out their incredible creations...

Also, I have the pleasure of sharing the stage with another Guest Designer so go check out Maggie's blog for her great card.

My Thrift Store Bargin

My best friend Lisa and I decided to go to a couple of our favorite Thrift Stores on Saturday and I got such a great deal that I had to share it with everyone.
I had recently seen a you tube video where you can use the wire cubes and make a 12 x 12 paper rack. So, when I saw these four packs all taped together for only  $ 2.99 each  I knew it was worth it even if I only got enough to make a few shelves. At that price I was willing to risk it
Then I stopped by the Dollar Store and bought zip ties to hold it all together.
After I got home I ended up with 23 plastic pieces and 19 wire pieces.

So to recap...
4 packs for $ 2.99 each
5 packs of zip ties for $1.50 each
About $20.00 give or take a little..... And this is what I made....

When I first started putting it together it was a little tricky but then it got easier.
I can tell you it took me about an hour to get it all together. Also, make sure you cut the zip ties off as close as you can because they are sharp and you could get cut on them.
AWESOME ... I LOVE IT. CAN'T WAIT TO PUT ALL MY PAPER IN THIS !!
When I get it all full I'll take another picture.
Keep on scrappin !!

New Beginings at " Friendship's Garden"

Friendship's Garden is a new paper crafting blog that has a twist to it... No stamping except for your sentiments. Now, if you scrap with paper alot more then you stamp then this too is a place for you to check out and join in the fun. The theme for the first challenge was " Something New". In other words new baby, new house, new friends. Oh, the twist...it has to be a window card... So this is what I came up with.

I used Wild Card cricut cartridge to make the window  with this cute little duck. Card stock is from the Paper Company and the baby stickers are from K&C Company.
I hope you like my card.
Don't forget to stop by and see the great cards made by the DT over at Friendship's Garden.

First Day of Autumn Blog Hop !!

Welcome to Autumn Blog hop. You should of came from Mindy's blog, if not please start at beginning with Lisa so that you don't miss any of the great projects.
I made a card to share with you today with a couple of my favorite Cricut cartridges. The card was cut from Wild Card and the butterfly from Ashlyn's Alphabet. I cut the card at 6 1/2 inches because I like to make a little larger card than most people. That is another great thing about Wild Card you can cut the card and envelope with this cartridge. I spashed a little sparkles on my card with Glue Gloss and Fairy dust glitter from Donna Salazar.
Enjoy !!

Your next stop is with Angela . I hope you have a great day !!!
You might have to hop to Janet to stay on track.

Labor Day Weekend

Well, we live in Alabama about 12 miles from the gulf of Mexico so we have been enduring alot of rain with this tropical storm. We had a tornado take out our power early this morning around 1:00 and it didn't come back on till 6:00 this morning. After we got out and about we figured out that the tornado came across our road about a half a mile from our house... too close and we don't think it is over with. I guess our Labor day will be watching movies all day. But, I did get a few cards done so I was going to share those with you before I loose power agian tonight.

I plan on sending these to Erica at My My Cricut Craft Room to take to the kids at the hospital.
Have a great Labor Day !!
